I worked collaboratively and cross functionally on this rigid plastic bottle to enhance the experience of a new product format of soft chew gum. Many design features were taken into careful consideration such as the portability, dispensing, ergonomics, opening feature, as well as the overall form factors. This product is currently in market and comes in a variety of flavor variations.
The Mega Pack is a rigid polypropylene package that holds 35 sticks of gum while keeping your gum fresher and better protected than ever. This design was driven by unfulfilled consumer needs, consumer user behavior, quality and durability requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and environmental considerations. The innovative pack increased Wrigley’s front-end sales 50% incrementally in the first year and became the #1 selling SKU in its set. It was originally launched in the Extra brand but later expanded into Wrigley’s “5” brand as well due to its growing success.
Covered® was a collaborative group passion project with a goal of sustainability, unisex design and intuitiveness. We worked as a cross functional team to create something beautiful and functional, while always considering the overall consumer experience.
A 100% human driven alternative that addresses the common struggle we all endure, perspiration. Covered® is universal deodorant and antiperspirant solution for both male and female users that is more conscious and environmentally friendly than anything that exists on the market today. This comprehensive system challenges the status quo by offering much needed education around the science of sweat prevention and protection. The system consists of a web portal, a unisex timelessly designed applicator, and an effortless product refill subscription service.
Astro solves the problem of purchasing furniture in a culture where young adults are constantly moving from one place to another. This must be accomplished by designing durable and low cost products that will not add to the issue of mass consumerism and its connection to ever-growing landfills. Astro is a stool and table design that solves the needs for the target market of a nomadic lifestyle. It is modular, can be packed away flat, and is designed to be 100% recyclable.
The Flow helmet utilizes new impact absorbing technology in a material called KOROYD® to prevent concussions. I collaborated with the College of Nursing at UC in order to come up with a solution to prevent concussions in the fast-paced sport of racquetball. There is currently no form of head protection for the sport in the market. I took the feedback from user testing, my research on materials, as well as information about the anatomy of the skull in order to make educated design decisions.
I wanted to design a lamp capturing the organic beauty of a flame, aesthetically and emotionally. Fire is an organic symbol of nature that is an iconic representation of light, life and survival. The lamp forms a connection to its user through its interactive function sliding the top piece up or down to control the amount light that is emitted.
I designed a speaker that uses old technology to think outside of the box and create something that is new and exciting. This futuristic speaker's action occurs with magnetic levitation to create the illusion that the speaker is floating. My goal was to make an interactive product that would not only be a quality speaker but also create an awe-inspiring experience.
This bench set design makes the experience of adjusting weights on an olympic bench set simpler, less intimidating, and safer. I was inspired by the mechanism found in Bowflex dumbbells that allows the user to adjust the weight of the dumbbell through modular customization. The bench functions by rolling the bar back into the weight station, selecting the weight with the button interface, then rolling the bar back up.
